The PostgreSQL community ends support for version 14 with its final release on November 12, 2026. On Amazon RDS, standard support for 14 ends on February 28, 2027.

Who is affected
Anyone running PostgreSQL 14, self-managed or on a managed service. This page tracks the community date and the AWS RDS dates. Other managed services set their own dates, so check your provider.
What happens at end of life
After the final release the community publishes no more fixes for 14. On RDS you can keep running 14 past February 28, 2027 under paid Extended Support, which AWS offers until February 28, 2030.
Migration options
Upgrade to PostgreSQL 17 or 18
Both have long support runways. On RDS, standard support runs to February 28, 2030 for 17 and February 28, 2031 for 18. Test extensions, drivers and query plans on a restored copy first.
Upgrade to PostgreSQL 16
A smaller jump with support to February 28, 2029 on RDS. Fine if you only need a safe interim step.
